Whenever you add content to the BTX platform, you have the option of including text, images, audio, video, and interactive flash (and HTML). This content can be uploaded from your computer and will be automatically stored online. Alternatively, you can choose to record a video blog or a podcast live into a blog post or wiki document using a mic and webcam.
The autopost feature gives users the ability to aggregate blog posts using any RSS feed. In other words, if an RSS feed is particularly relevant to any group, users can choose to automatically post that feed directly to the group. Instead of an RSS reader updating users, autopost will post any new updates to the group.
The BTX platform includes extensive newsletter functionality. Newsletters can be generated for one time use, or set on any number of preset or user definable “triggers.” Users can choose to become “marketing subscribers” when they first sign up, which will automatically put them on a newsletter list. After that, they may optionally subscribe to any number of newsletters.
Users may optionally decide to receive email notifications for updates to the site. They can subscribe to track blog posts, comments, wiki or document manager documents, and will be alerted whenever new material is added.
BTX RSS (Real-Simple Syndication) is a means by which users can stay on top of issues they’re following. RSS allows users to subscribe to receive updates on documents, sites, and blogs as they occur.
